What People Are Saying
It was truly blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of the LEAD weekend and it couldn’t have come at a better time for me personally. As a Christian Businessman it was very encouraging to spend time around others who shared a love for Christ and desire to glorify Him in what we do. The time of fellowship was great, but the time we had to talk about some of the common challenges we face and Biblical responses to these was very helpful. The concept of “Meeting Entitlement with Enticement through Equipping and Encouraging” has almost become a battle cry for me as I returned to the office and work with my junior managers. I took a lot of other very good things away but probably the thing that spoke to me the loudest is the concept of what we are called to. Focusing on our command to be a witness in our chosen profession really struck a cord with me. As businessmen we talk in terms of Return on Investment, I can say unequivocally say I am confident I will receive a solid return on this investment of time.

I truly believe that God met with us on this retreat. There was wonderful singing and testimonies and praising God. Bro. Tom brought out through the Bible how we could be effective Christian bosses and taught lessons on servant leadership. Bro. Mike also spoke to us on business evangelism and seven principles in business that he had learned that made him a successful business(es) leader. My job has allowed me the priviledge of listening to many famous, motivational speakers and attend leadership training workshops to enhance my skills. But I never had a more challenging, thought provoking, Bible centered workshops as I had with Bro. Tom and Bro. Mike. They complemented each other like they had done this many times. I came away challenged to be a better leader for my employees and also to be a better Christian in witnessing and using the platform that God has given me to reach others that no one else can. Proverbs 27:17, Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. This verse to me was the theme while I was there. It was refreshing to be around other business leaders and realize that they face the same challenges that I do. We were able to help each other in a think tank format, to offer solutions on how to handle the issues from a christian perspective. I challenge anyone that if you get the opportunity to go to the next retreat, you will not be disappointed. It most likely will be one of the best ways you can help become a better christian business leader and sharpen your walk with the Lord. I know for my wife and I, it will remain one of the highlights of our year. We look forward to the next L.E.A.D Advance retreat!
